Those who like to hike, ski-doo, or cross-country ski will find the area to be alive with opportunities — truly perfect for the outdoor enthusiast! South Indian Lake is approximately 175kms in length and over 20kms in width. One can only imagine the many bays, islands, pristine inland lakes and rivers that can be explored. The lake is fantastic for boating and also for fishing, offering some of the best Walleye and Northern Pike action in the world. The community is a proud owner of Big Sand Lake Lodge, a world-class lodge that caters to sport fishermen, and hunters. The lodge can accomodate sixty-two guests and has five different out-camps. Some of the largest Lake Trout on record have been caught here as well as trophy-sized Pike and Walleye. The arena in town offers anyone a place to warm-up, grab a bite to eat, or participate in various sporting events that are held there.
